Hi Guys,
. Well my main intention of writing this Blog was to tell people who are looking out for a coaching center for their UPSC training that its not necessary that you trust what you see. Remember the saying "Looks can be deceiving"
I have been deceived by the so called "No 1 Institute" in Bangalore which in its website boasts of great teaching and guidance, but well they didn't live even 10% up to the expectation they set. Well the frustration that is caused by such fake people who say that they will help you completely and then once get the money don't even care to show the least bit of respect.
Well My UPSC story started with me who have started dreaming of being an IAS officer finally got over my fear and kept my first step towards my destination "UPSC". When I went ahead and tried to Google and find a institute that can show me a direction to move in (as I am an engineering graduate, I was oblivious to the whole concept of UPSC) I stumbled upon this so called No.1 Institute name "Himalai IAS".
It was in the month of Jan 2012 that I went ahead and met them and enquired about the class. They gave me a promise that though the exam is in may we will train you and make sure that by then you know everything. Trusting the sugar coated words of theirs I joined these classes. (well the funny part was that when I said I will attend the class that was going on that day as I had not carried the cash with me they were totally against it and they said that they wont even accept the cheque.)
Every step I kept I saw their promises being broken. They said that the portions will be completed and they never did, As I was working they said that they will make sure in weekend classes they will help me.... so on.... Well the exams came and I saw that they had not even covered 20% of the subject.
Well when I went and spoke to them after prelims (which I wrote after self studies and with no help from them)regarding the mains, they said that they will conduct only after prelims results are out (which is exceptionally silly as the Prelims results come out in Aug and the mains start in Oct, 2 months is just not enough to prepare for mains, even tough for people of science background as there are very few optionals for engineering students in UPSC). When I told them that its not possible to complete the portions they in every way tried to not only humiliate, but also spoke as though we have not done anything at all.
Well thanks to them and their misguiding that UPSC can be cleared by 10th student (well this is what the owner/manager of that so called "institute" said every time he spoke to us) many of us well faced the first bump i.e.s could not clear the exam.
But as said by Bill Marriott
"Failure?I never encountered it.
All I ever met were temporary setbacks"
Will go on and continue my travel to my destination.
Hence I request all those IAS aspirants out there please dont trust what you see and just get into such institutes. Please think before you join!!!!!
